Traffic Management

You will know that Abbey Road is a very busy place at the moment. There are two building sites, a demolition site and ongoing works on the ESB network within a very short distance of each other. We are working with everyone concerned to keep the children safe and to keep traffic moving. For your own safety, and the safety of the children please do not stand in the middle of the drive through area. Thank you for your patience and co-operation and please continue to drive through the car park for drop offs and pick-ups. We are doing well thanks to everyone’s support and the girls continue to behave as Good Citizens of our school.

Reminder

If you have not already done so, please contact the school office on 051 832984 to arrange to pay your child’s contribution for Art and Craft, Reading Materials and Photocopying. A sincere thank you to everyone who has already used our contactless payment system.

What Happens If a School Has a Positive Covid-19 Case?

We hope and pray that we will not be in this position, but it may be useful for you to know what happens when a member of staff or a pupil tests positive for Covid-19.

  • The HSE is responsible for managing the situation.
  • The HSE will make an assessment and decide what needs to happen.
  • If necessary, the HSE will contact the Principal and request Contact Tracing Information. The Principal must provide this information to the HSE. For more information check out https://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/5/publichealth/publichealthdepts/moh/covid-19-and-schools.html  The HSE will conduct any Contact Tracing.
  • The HSE will make the decision on whether children or staff need to stay at home. Until this decision has been given to the school by the HSE, the school will remain open.
  • To protect the privacy of children and staff members (GDPR) and to comply with Public Health guidelines, the school will not be contacting you to advise you of a positive test unless it is directed to do so by the HSE.
