Good Counsel GNS is closed for the snow today. I know the Sixth Class girls love to be busy and when they are all finished enjoying the snow outside, here are suggestions for some activities to continue the fun inside.
- Do a sketch or animation for the “Beast from the East” . What do you imagine this beast to look like? How is it taking over Ireland?!!!
- Keep a log/diary on this weather event.On the news, “Beast from the East” is being compared to a weather event that occurred in 1982. How would you account your experience of this event for someone in 36 years time?!Listen to news reports to get your information.
- Write a poem about the snow. For example, what can you do in the snow? The movement of the snow etc etc
- Play Games!! and I don’t mean computer games. Play board games like scrabble or pictionary. Play charades, cards, make snowballs from socks and have a snowball fight. The possibilities are endless.Use your imagination!
- Bake! A nice activity to do together at home today. Remember, we are doing Weight in Maths this week, so you are to take charge of the weighing scales and measure out those ingredients.
- Reminder! Your project to write and illustrate a children’s bedtime story is due on the 9th of March, why not take this time to work on it and read it to your family!
- Read – catch up on reading time. Snuggle up with a book and relax.
The main thing is to Stay Safe girls.
