Our Lady of Good Counsel GNS

Ferrybank, Waterford

Once again, Friday comes around very quickly.

With only days left to our Holy Communion, we have been busy going to the church to practice for our special day.

On Monday of last week, we were invited to Little Sisters of the Poor to sing at their special mass, to celebrate 150 years in Ferrybank. Everyone was impressed with our singing, and our responses to the Mass. The sisters very kindly provided treats for us afterwards. We hope to go back in June to sing some songs for them with 5th class.

We started our planting as part of Incredibel Edibles. We planted strawberries and potatoes outdoors and we planted spinach seeds indoors, and many of the seeds are sprouting. These will have to be replanted in to a bigger container, then ‘hardened off’ before being put in the ground outside.

We will grow basil, peas and tomatoes later on , when the weather improves.

We also got tips on how to grow carrots and lettuce.

We had two nominees for Good Counsel Good citizen: Monika and Summer. Well deserved nominees.

We are busy doing our Communion art for the Church and the corridor. It will look very nice indeed.

For our reading, we tried to memorise as many facts as we could about bears, and we are going to read as many books as we can from the Mr. Men series, before deciding which is our favourite character. We also visited the library on Thursday.

I hope everybody enjoys the Bank Holiday weekend.
