Our Lady of Good Counsel GNS

Ferrybank, Waterford

How could it be Friday already? Probably because we had no school on Wednesday….the students that is! The teachers were busy in the Teachers’ Centre

The week passed very quickly indeed.

We went to Mass on Thursday morning because we need to practice saying our prayers during Mass. We hope to go every Friday leading up to our Communion…..only 3 Fridays left!

On Wednesday night, those children that were free from Second and Fifth classes took part in a choir charity event for the Niall Mellon Foundation in the Theatre Royal. It was a fantastic experience for us all. We sang The Ferrybank Piper and Smile.

On Friday, we had an ideal day for planting our seeds with the long awaited sunshile. We are part of The Incredible Edible programme and we were given spinach, carrot, turnip and basil seeds to sow. Some of those seeds will be put directly into the ground, and some will be started off in the classroom on a sunny windowsill. We are waiting for the ground to dry out a little before we start planting. We also planted some strawberry runners and we hope to put in potatoes on Monday.

Always something to look forward to……on Monday we are privilaged to be invited to sing at a special Mass in the Little Sisters and we are all excited about Active Schools Week…..not really because we  will have 10 minutes extra playtime at 11am!
