Ferrybank, Waterford

We have had a busy couple of weeks here in 2nd Class! The girls have settled well into their new routines in 2nd class, and we have covered a lot of work since the beginning of the school year.
Below are some pictures of what we have been up to over the past few weeks – including SESE and maths trails around the school, reading dual-language books on European Languages Day, researching Waterford City and barn swallows on the iPads, meeting our 4th class buddies, and celebrating Halloween.

And what a week it’s been !!!!
A fantastic day of enterprise and life skills between 4th Class and 3rd Class in the hálla.

Beautiful prizes created by our Good Counsel girls.

Such creativity and original ideas thought up by the girls. Such as pin the tail on the cat.

A visit from the Waterford Mayor to commend excellence in attendance 2024 – 2025. And last year’s class winners handing back the cup.

Maths Week 2025 and team work assignments in construction, problem solving and spatial awareness comes to an end.

4th Class have all been paired with a ‘Buddy’ from 2nd Class. And we look forward to many ‘Buddy Reading’ curricular trails around our school with our ‘buddy’ during the year. We may even have a Teddy’s Bear picnic between the two classes during Friendship week in Term 3. And we are looking forward to reading our genre writing to the younger audience before Christmas.

Well done to Rang a Ceathair for contributing to our amazing standard this year in
