Dear Mams and Dads,
I am happy to invite you to the school next Thursday evening, October 6th for a meeting with your child’s teacher.
We are delighted to be able to hold these meetings again as they have been very worthwhile for us as teachers, and feedback from parents has been very positive. Most importantly there has been a benefit for the children so I would encourage you to come along. The main aims of the meeting are for you:
This will be a general information meeting and it is not a one-to-one meeting to discuss your child’s progress. You will be invited back to the school early in the second term for a Parent/Teacher Meeting when you will have the opportunity for an individual discussion about your child.
Tea/coffee will be available on Thursday evening from 6.45p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7p.m. sharp. It is an exciting evening for the school, and we look forward to meeting you. Your Parents Association will also hold it’s first face to face meeting for three years in the GP Room after you meet with the teachers. You will be on your way home again by 8.15p.m.
We look forward to meeting you and to working with you for the benefit of all the children.
Yours sincerely,
C. O’Reilly – Principal
The girls in first class are working hard and settling back into school very well. They are experiencing a lot of new things like the longer day but also have had their first few sessions of Camogie training, up at the GAA pitch. The girls are really enjoying it and with more practice, I could see a few All- Stars in our midst.

The girls in 5th class have been very lucky to be able to take part in a six week camogie training programme, thanks to Mrs Shanahon. Mrs Shanahon organised with generous volunteers, John and Sarah, a weekly camogie training session for the girls. With only two sessions completed, we can already see an improvement in their ability, confidence and team building skills. We already look forward to next Wednesday’s training session.

So far, we have been enjoying settling into our new class and routines. To help Ms Walsh get to know the pupils better, the girls were given the task of drawing a self-portrait of themselves and their interests. The results were creative and unique!

Can you believe that the girls have already been back at school almost a month. They have been such busy bees in 2nd class and I am enjoying getting to know them.
The girls have been having fun doing Maths board games and learning by playing. Why not ask the girls to sing their new song in Music ,‘Popocatepetl’. We performed this through singing, movement and percussion instruments. Finally, we are enjoying some Autumn fun by learning how to play conkers…!
