Our Lady of Good Counsel GNS

Ferrybank, Waterford

We have been focusing on the nursery rhyme ‘Hey Diddle, Diddle’.

The following day we sequenced the nursery rhyme, putting it in the correct order. We sang the rhyme slowly to help us find the correct sentence.
We were given the nursery rhyme cut up into sentences. We had to search for the nouns, tricky words and rhyming words, to help us to put the sentences in the correct order.
We were given the tricky task of trying to match the words to the words in the sentences. We began with finding all of the nouns and rhyming words and matching them. Then we realised that there were a lot of tricky words we could match. Finally we used the initial sound to figure out where the other words should go. It was like a jigsaw puzzle!
