Science – We were learning all about the Respiratory system this week, all the way from the Nasal/Mouth cavities right down to the Alveoli!
Art – We learned about the artists Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte, and will use their Surreal Art to inspire us to create our own surreal images next week.
Drama – To connect to our History lessons, we created 5 ‘Still Images’ of King Tutankhamun’s life, did some ‘Thought Tracking’, and created a ‘Consciene Alley’ to see if we could come up with a decision on how he really died!
P.E. – 6th Class were lucky to be chosen for a course of Yoga classes. This week was our first week. The girls really enjoyed it and already it is clear to see how these movements, stretches, and relaxation techniques will benefit the girls – Namaste!

Mission Week!
This week, the whole school participated in a huge fundraiser for the Missions.
On Monday, 6th class arrived with lots of things to sell, from delicious cakes and buns, to books and DVDs, to colouring competitions and more. By the end of the day, 6th class were exhausted from their sales day, but also very satisfied with their hard work. The teacher was proud of them also!
Talent show
Next up, we prepared for hosting the Talent show. Another great day for all the school to enjoy. 6th Class presented the show, judged it, organised backstage, presented prizes, did DJ and a whole lot more. What an enjoyable day it was, with delightful talent and performances. Well done to all.
Art Costumes
In art the girls created and designed some very arty and unusual Halloween costumes, using plastic, fabrics, fibres and a variety of other recyclables.
Science
The girls were set another Science challenge. This time it was to create a Magnetic Power Boat. The girls created fantastic boats and we had fun testing them on Thursday. Well done to all!

After Storm Ophelia kept us away on Monday and Tuesday, it was back to school safe and sound on Wednesday.
Mission Week – This week we have been preparing for Mission Week. We have our posters ready and our advertisement done, so we are ready to “Sell, sell, sell” on Monday. We hope to raise lots of money for the Missions next week. We are also getting organised to present the ‘Talent Show’ next Friday.
Geography – We are learning about weather and climate this week. We made connections to the busy jobs that Meteorologists have, especially over the last week. We are getting an idea of the instruments they use to forecast weather. We are starting to collect some Weather Lore, so if anyone has any suggestions, please pass them on to your child. e.g. A red sky at night is a shepherd’s delight. A red sky in the morning is a shepherd’s warning.
