Homework

Based on the feedback provided by parents, teachers and the pupils in last year’s survey, we have decided to take some little steps towards a more regular Homework routine. Over the next number of weeks, teachers will assign a small amount of Homework for the girls to complete. Please just do your best girls.  We will continue to use the Seesaw App to post Homework so that we can all remain familiar with how it works. If you have any problem accessing the work, please let your child’s teacher know, and he/she will get back to you as soon as possible. We will review again before Christmas and decide on how to proceed in the New Year. For November and December:

  • From Third Class to Sixth Class, Homework will include Reading, Spellings and Tables.
  • First and Second Class will focus on Reading based activities.
  • Junior and Senior Infants will work on literacy activities that are suitable to their age group.

Information for Parents from the Department of Education

The Department of Education has published information for parents about the changes to contact tracing and testing for children between 3 months and 13 years old. It is available at this link:

Head Lice

Please check your child’s hair this weekend and treat it if necessary. Remember if one member of the family has headlice, then it is highly likely it has been shared with someone else in the family. It is most important that the girls wear their hair in plaits or in a bun as this really does help to prevent the spread of headlice at school. You can find information and advice at this link. https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/head-lice-nits/

Bicycle Shelter

On Wednesday, a brand new bicycle shelter was installed at the school. It was funded by An Taisce through the Green Schools Programme. A big ‘Thank You’ to Ms. Finucane who had applied for the funding before she retired. We hope that it will encourage lots of the girls to cycle safely to school. Remember to wear your high-vis vests and helmets.
