Head Lice Treatments

We have been asked by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) to pass on the following message:

The HPRA is the competent authority for medical devices in Ireland. Our role is to monitor the safety of medical devices in Ireland after they are placed on the market.
We have published a Safety Notice to raise awareness of the risk of fire associated with some head lice treatment products. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in disseminating this information to parents, guardians and users of these devices.
A copy of this Safety Notice is available on the HPRA website www.hpra.ie at the following link:-

St Brigid’s Day

Happy St. Brigid’s Day to one and all. It’s been a busy week. Well done to the girls from Fifth and Sixth Classes who represented the school so well at the Credit Union Table Quiz last Monday night. Thank you to Mrs. Foley and Mrs. O’Neill for supporting them.
Tomorrow, we will have a school Prayer Service in the Parish Church at 11.30a.m. to mark the end of Catholic Schools Week. Everyone is very welcome to attend. This year’s theme is ‘Family’ so it would be wonderful to see as many Mams, Dads and Grandparents as possible.
We look forward to meeting all our Mams and Dads next week for Parent Teacher meetings.

Your School

Please keep an eye on the school as you are passing in the evening or at weekends. Unfortunately we have had a spate of anti-social behaviour on the school grounds in recent weeks. Last weekend a group of young people littered the yard, damaged school property and attempted to break into the shed. The Gardai have been informed. If you do see anyone on the school grounds when they should not be here, please call the Gardai.

Little Red Kettle

Little Red Kettle Theatre Company paid us a visit on Friday the 12th of January, with their latest wonderful production ” The Story That Everybody Was In” here are a few photos of the many talented actors (watch out Saoirse Ronan!) who got to take part.

Help Stop the ‘Flu

Welcome back to school everyone. As we are in the middle of the ‘flu season, please help to stop it spreading. You can do this by:
Following the advice of the HSE and keeping you child at home if she is unwell.
Making sure your child has her own packet of tissues to bring to school.
Practising ‘sneezing into your elbow’ if you do not have a tissue.
Using the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ slogan at home – catch the sneeze in a tissue, bin the tissue and wash your hands.
For more information, check out www.hse.ie/flu and www.undertheweather.ie
Here’s to a healthy year ahead for everyone.
