For homework Junior Infants can enjoy sitting down with you and listening to a good story at home. Please take the time to talk about the book – the title, the cover, the author, the illustrator and discuss the story and pictures as you read. Play guessing games – make predictions! – Stop during the story and guess what might happen next/after the story.
Afterwards talk about the story – discuss the parts she liked/disliked. Ask her to retell what happened in the story in her own words. Use language such as – First, next, then, in the end.
