Happy Hallowe’en
The girls have enjoyed mission week in school. They had lots of fun shopping and playing Hallowe’en games.
They also did some Hallowe’en themed art during the week. Today, the girls performed our song in the school talent show and they were fantastic! The girls’ costumes were wonderful and so creative!
Wishing you all a happy and safe Hallowe’en! Enjoy the break and I will see you all after the mid-term.

Maths Week
This week is ‘Maths Week’ in schools all over Ireland.
The girls participated in lots of maths related activities throughout the week. They played dice games, went on a numbers hunt around the school using their maths eyes to find numbers, and they even looked for numbers in the witches potions!
Well done to all the girls for being amazing mathematicians! 👏👏👏
Athletics
This week in Junior Infants the girls finished their block of athletics in P.E.
For the past few weeks the girls have been practising running, jumping and throwing. This week they participated in 5 different stations to demonstrate all their skills.
In SESE the girls have been learning about the human body. They have set up a doctor’s surgery in our classroom and have enjoyed some role play. The girls have taken on the role of the doctor, the nurse, and patients with different illnesses.
Busy Bees
Junior Infants have been working hard to develop their fine motor skills. Each morning the girls do some activities and they have been making wonderful progress. They are getting better and better every week!!
In October the girls will move on to new activities to strengthen their finger muscles even more.
First Day in School
The girls enjoyed their first day at Our Lady of Good Counsel. They went outside to play together and they met their buddies from 6th class who will help them throughout the year. The girls got to play with some of the resources in the class and they even got to do some painting. A successful day all round!
Transport
We have been learning all about transport in Junior Infants. We had visits from the gardaí, the ambulance service and Irish Rail. We got to look inside the ambulance and the garda car. We turned on the sirens and the flashing lights.
Sports Day
The girls had lots of fun on sports day last week. They all joined in and some of the girls even showed their competitive side! Well done to all the girls.
