We are learning our ‘e‘ sound and blending new words.

We made Baa Baa Black sheep using pegs, cotton balls and black paint.

We are learning all about houses and homes in Aistear.

At the construction table we are building houses from blocks.

In the Small World area, we are putting the correct furniture in each room in a doll’s house.

At the writing station we are cutting out furniture and putting it in the correct area.

At the arts and crafts area, we are making houses from recycled boxes and toilet paper rolls.

At our sand box, the girls are pretending to build houses. They  remember to wear their hard hats, safety goggles, high-visibility vests and ear-muffs to be safe on the construction site.

Th girls dress up as estate agents and families looking to buy homes in our role play area.

Our classroom has transformed into an Estate Agents for Aistear this month. We are learning all about the different rooms and types of houses.🏠

We are learning about homes in the past in History.

We are learning how to write the number 2, learning all about 3D shapes and length in maths.

We are discussing An Scoil as Gaeilge.

We are learning about the life cycle of the Robin and the different characteristics of the bird.

We are learning the c/k sound in phonics and blending new words.

We are learning how to stay safe if we become lost in supermarkets and shops.

We are doing creative dance in PE.

It has been a busy first week back!

26th October 2017

On Tuesday the Mayor came to visit and we saw the big girl’s get their certificates for great attendance. Hopefully we will get certificates next year too!

We learned the ‘c’ sound in Jolly Phonics and we have begun blending c-a-t and c-a-p. With our tricky words and CVC words we have begun reading simple sentences.

We made squares, triangles, rectangles and circles with our strings and pegboards in maths. We played 2D shape games.

We made chocolate apples in science and discussed the process of melting from a solid (hard) to a liquid (soft).

We had a little party on Thursday to celebrate filling our jar to the top with pompoms for excellent behaviour and working so hard. 🙂
