Fourth Class Blog
The compliments were flying today for World Kindness Day.

Welcome back!
It was great to see the girls return safely to school on Monday. We had a big surprise on Monday when Alan Nolan the author of our class novel ‘Conor’s Caveman’ did a live video call with our class to answer our questions about this book and his experience during lockdown. Alan also illustrates his own books and he took our class through a step by step approach on how to draw a penguin. We all had so much fun on our first day back. A big thanks to Alan for his time and patience.
Homework continued this week with Read at Home 4 and reading for pleasure. Next week 4th class will focus on the strategy ‘Making connections’. The girls will read pages 21 to 24 for homework. It is great to see the girls enjoying reading in school and exploring new authors.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.

Happy Halloween. We made it!

We had great fun during Maths Week!

Fourth Class had great fun with the challenge Hit the Button during Maths Week. We are a very competitive bunch!
Don’t forget to root out your Halloween costume for Friday and be as creative as you can, no need to buy anything new let’s use our imagination.
Reading continues for homework this week. Read at Home 4 pages 13 to 16. We will continue with our strategies Visualisation and Prediction this week. Also don’t forget your 15 minutes of reading every night, why not snuggle up with your favourite book.
We will be having lots of fun this week carving pumpkins, playing Halloween games and dressing up. Watch out for some pictures.
Have a great week and stay safe.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween!

4th Class Update
Welcome back to another week of learning, where is the time going? It is hard to believe that next week is our last week before the Mid-Term Break.
The girls have been busy reading and drawing illustrations from their class novel Conor’s Caveman. Take a look!
For homework this week the girls will continue to do their Read at Home Book 4 and 15 minutes reading for pleasure and enjoyment.
This week the girls will read:
Monday 12th October Pg 9
Tuesday 13th October Pg 10
Wednesday 14th October Pg 11
Thursday 15th October Pg 12
The girls will read aloud and the focus is on fluency, understanding of vocabulary and summarizing. This week we will also focus on our strategies Visualisation and Prediction. We have been doing a lot of work on these in class. The girls will answer the questions orally, locating the answers in the story.
Have a great week and remember to follow the guidelines and stay safe.
