Fourth Class Blog
November- December Round Up
It has been a very busy time in our class for the past 2 months. The girls have been busy learning about houses and homes, in all areas of learning, from English listening activities, to Gaeilge, to drawing houses and homes and making gingerbread houses in Art.
We celebrated Science Week with Junior and Senior Infants in the school. 4th mini muinteoirs guided the infants through experiments and everyone had a great time.
The girls are practicing and using different strategies in multiplication and division. There is great determination being shown.
The girls are procressing really well in Chess. We have only one more piece the introduce before the entire game is ready. We have started playing smaller games and our skill and enjoyment is developing well.
We are busy getting ready for play performances and Peace proms and cannot wait to perform. We hope you enjoy the shows.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a nice relaxing break. We can’t wait to see you back in 2025.

Happy Halloween
It has been a very busy October in 4th class.
The girls have been familirising themselves with persuasive writing and coming up with arguments to defend the wolf or the three little pigs. We remain split on who is right to this day, but strong emotive language and facts were being used to support their reasons.
We celebrated Maths week last week, reading Maths story book and exploring time, fractions and length through them. The girls also looked for Maths in their environment using their maths eyes. We finished the week with a maths scavenger hunt, kindly organised by 6th class.
The girls have really enjoyed the run up to Halloween with cauldron art, learning about Loftus Hall and organising a wonderful mission week. Congrats to the girls for a great shop and thank you to all who helped out for it.
Have a Happy Halloween and nice midterm break.

Welcome Back
A big welcome back to everyone. The girls are settling in well to 4th class, and we are spending a lot of time learning about ourselves and our areas, drawing maps and making beautiful brochures, for visitors in the area.
We have been learning about mixing colours and working on the colours wheel, making beautiful coloured eyes.

The girls in 4th class have been very lucky to have to chance to start to learn to play chess. Ms. Hall and Ms. Hayes have come into 4th class to help us and we wre very grateful for their help. We have been learning about respect, pawns and have had great fun playing our mini games.

May Catch Up
May is always a busy time and this may has been no different.
Today 3rd and 4th class had their school tour to Dunmore Cave and Rothe House in Kilkenny and the girls enjoyed themselves no end.

4th class have been successful in not 1 but 2 camogie blitz, doing themselves and our school proud.
They are also really enjoying learning to cycle correctly and safely on the yard, with each girl showing great improvement in only a few weeks.

Enjoy the bank holiday and the weekend.
Happy Easter
It has been a very busy terms. From peace proms to Paddys day, we have arrived this week at Easter. We have been reading about events of Easter week, creating funky bunny art and using our ever developing Maths skills, to crack a code, on an Easter Egg hunt. Safe to say, Maths has never been so fun. Enjoy the break everyone!

Peace Proms
Congratulations to the girls in 4th and 5th class on their wonderful performance in Peace Proms. They were just fantastic and according to one volunteer at peace proms, our school brought the party. The girls have worked very hard on their singing and dancing and we can agree, it paid off. They were fantastic.

We continued a busy week with world book day, where the book characters came out in force.

Dancing and Learning
The girls have been very busy preparing for their peace proms performance, learning songs, learning choreography and coming up with their own routine, a special treat for us all to look forward to.

They are extending these dancing skills not just in PE and music but in learning both long and short multiplication and doing so very well.
