Water and Yoga!
Fourth class are very lucky to have the chance to do yoga at school!
Last week, the class held a day-long experiment. Each child was encouraged to drink one litre of water in a day to see if it made any difference. It did! Some results included an increase in concentration, homework being completed faster and, of course, and increase in trips to the toilet!
We are hard at work learning our Peace Proms songs this month for our upcoming rehearsal.
Busy Bodies has begun and the children are learning all about their bodies and how they grow and change.
Some topics chosen by the girls for their presentations recently include Inspiring Women, the country of Brazil, swallows and astronauts. The standard of work in the girls’ presentations has really risen and their creativity is very impressive. Keep it up!
Merry Christmas!
After a week of Christmas concerts and a half day of meditation, yoga and music, Fourth Class wishes all families a safe and happy Christmas!
Soundwaves
The Science experiment this week was about creating soundwaves. Fourth class made soundwaves and ripples in their popcorn ‘instrument’ using elastic bands!

Lines and angles
Using coloured tape and card, the girls created angles on a sheet. They worked with their group to mark the acute angles and obtuse angles. Have a look!

Japanese Multiplication and Dance Parties
As part of Game Time this week, some girls learned the complicated rules of Japanese Multiplication.
Thanks to the Active School Committee, fourth class took part in an impromptu dance party in the yard this morning!
Windmills and Renewable Energy
On Friday we attended an event in the library called ‘Renewable Energy; Knex and Lego Workshop’. The girls listened to a presentation about the many sources of renewable energy. They each had the opportunity to test the power of a small Lego windmill and a cog-and-wheel Knex machine using just a light (solar power).
This week, we learned how to make paper windmills using card, a pin and a pencil or straw. Have a look below at one of our creations!
