Halloween Maths Week- Exploring Fractions, Decimals and Percentages

Through slicing up a bairín breac, we discussed and compared fractions. We then converted the fractions to decimals and percentages. In the end, we all had a tasty slice of breac and some of the girls found the precious ring! 💍

Halloween Maths Week- Conkers

The girls wrote the digits 0-9 on conkers, we had collected during our Daily Mile. The activity involved picking out 4/5 conkers, putting those numbers in order, to create the biggest and smallest numbers. Who would have thought, so much fun could be had with conkers? ☺ The girls explored all the mathematical operations with the conkers.

Halloween Maths Week- Measuring Pumpkins 🧙

To celebrate Maths Week, we split into six groups to complete Halloween themed Maths activities. The first station, involved estimating the height and circumference of four large 🎃. We used cubes to help with our estimations. We used string to gage the height and circumference. Using rulers, we measured the string to find out that Ms Hall has the widest and tallest pumpkin.
