We had a busy week in Senior Infants. Karyn from the library came to help us with our Aistear theme ‘The Library’.In the Socio-dramatic area we set up the library. We made the front desk, sorted out the books into different categories, made library cards, renewed our membership, borrowed and returned books and made rules for the library. In the creative area we designed and made bookmarks. In the small world area we made our school and Ferrybank library and and we discussed our immediate surroundings and our journey to and from the library. In the construction area we built the library and all the different areas in the library. In the writing area we made non-fiction books called ‘The Farm’. We are really having so much fun and a big thank you to Karyn for getting involved with our theme this month.
Friendship week is proving to be a great success in our school and we have discussed and examined the different aspects of friendship like talking and spending time together, helping and trusting each other and sharing with each other. Senior Infants have really enjoyed playing with new friends this week. Well done girls!
As part of our Intercultural week two girls from sixth class came into our class and read us the story ‘Pilotija ,The Pilot and Me’ in English and Polish. This was a very special treat and we all really enjoyed the story. Tomorrow we are looking forward to dressing up for National Colours and Costumes Day and we will have our own school St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig–Happy St. Patrick’s Day
